Matthew worked in consumer and business-to-business market research for a number of years before specialising in healthcare and pharmaceuticals 11 years ago. He works primarily with European clients, contributing to the development of positioning and communications strategies as well as providing research used to support scenario-planning (utilising trade-off techniques such as discrete choice and adaptive conjoint analysis (ACA)).

Matthew is responsible for client interface and management of project teams within Double Helix's London Headquarters. He also leads the InnovationsLAB, an internal Double Helix group that develops and assesses the value of new research techniques and approaches.

Matthew has a degree (2:1) in Communications Studies and is an NLP practitioner.
